Privacy, in plain words
Last updated: October 28, 2026.
Dinner Autopilot is an iPhone app for people in the US, made by Alexdav LLC, an Arizona company.
No login needed. When you open the app, it gets a random ID for your phone. You don’t need to give us an email or password.
What we collect
- A random ID for your phone.
- Your household name, members’ display names, and names typed on invites.
- Your dinners and plan, including any food preferences you add (like allergies or foods to skip).
- Your household’s dinner time and time zone.
- The words you add (see below).
- If you buy the $9.99 upgrade: a payment ID, the dates you paid or were refunded, a link to your receipt, and an internal ID for the member who paid.
- If you email us: your email address and what you send.
- If you signed in with email on a test version: that email address. Cloudflare sends the sign-in code.
- A hashed version of your IP address, kept briefly to stop abuse.
Reminders are notifications scheduled on your phone; we don’t send them from our servers.
We don’t keep request logs, and we don’t use analytics, crash-reporting or ad tools. If you choose to share crash reports with Apple (for example through TestFlight), Apple passes them to us.
The words you add
When you say, paste or share a dinner and tap add, the words are read by our AI service, run by OpenAI, to turn them into dinners.
Under OpenAI’s terms for apps like ours, they aren’t used to train its models. We keep the words for now while we add automatic deletion. To delete them, email us.
It can get things wrong, so check a dinner before you cook it.
Please keep medical or health details out. Food preferences like "no peanuts" are fine.
OpenAI may keep the words for up to 30 days to check for abuse, under its own policies. Tapping a starter dinner or typing one dinner name doesn’t send anything to it.
Payments. Stripe handles payments through Stripe Checkout. With your household, we store a payment ID, the dates you paid or were refunded, a link to your receipt, and an internal ID for the member who paid. Everyone in your household can see the purchase, its date and the receipt. We don’t store the name or email you give Stripe. Stripe keeps your name, email and card details, and Alexdav LLC can see your name and email in Stripe’s dashboard to send receipts and give refunds. We never see your full card number.
Your household. Up to 6 people can be in a household. Everyone in it can see and change the shared dinners and plan. When you join a household, your dinners are copied into it, and your old household stays stored with its dinners until you ask us to delete it.
Who we share with. Only the services that run the app:
- Cloudflare, for hosting and our database, to pass the words you add to OpenAI, and to send email sign-in codes to testers.
- OpenAI, to turn the words you add into dinners.
- Stripe, for payments.
- Apple, for TestFlight and to check that requests come from a real copy of the app on a real iPhone (App Attest).
- Cloudflare (email forwarding) and Grok Bot (support inbox), to help us read and answer support email.
We share data only to run the app, or when the law requires it. We don’t sell your data or share it for targeted ads, and we don’t show ads.
This website. It doesn’t set cookies or use trackers or Google Fonts.
Support. If you email us, we use what you send only to help you. Support email reaches us through Cloudflare (email forwarding) and Grok Bot (support inbox), an AI tool that helps us read and answer it. Both can see what you send.
How long we keep it.
- Nothing is deleted automatically yet, except as listed below. Your household, dinners (including ones you deleted), plan, the words you add, drafts made from them, calendar snapshots, saved responses and everything else we store stay until you ask us to delete them. We delete them by hand when you email us.
- A dinner you delete in the app stays stored until your household’s data is deleted.
- Payment records: kept as long as the law requires, even after you delete your data.
- Support emails: kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Hashed IP addresses: kept briefly to stop abuse.
- Backup copies are kept for up to 30 days.
Deleting your data.
- Email support@getdinnerautopilot.com and we’ll delete your data. Use the subject “Delete my data”, or tap Delete my data in Settings > Privacy. Tell us whether you want your whole household deleted or only your own data.
- Before we delete or send any data, we ask for details only your household would know, like members’ names and two of your dinners.
- The email from Delete my data in the app includes a Household ID line so we can find your household. Leave it in.
- Deleting includes dinners you deleted earlier in the app and any copies we keep of what you added.
- We delete everything except records we must keep by law, like payment records. Backup copies and OpenAI’s own copy can last up to 30 days.
Children. Dinner Autopilot isn’t for children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your rights. Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data. Email us and we’ll answer within 30 days. We confirm the request comes from your household before we act.
Security. Data is encrypted in transit. Alexdav LLC and the services listed above can access it.
Changes. If we make a significant change, we’ll update this page, change the date above, and email anyone who bought the upgrade before it takes effect.
